The performance of a filter media in the air filtration process is very important in its selection, whether it is used in industrial processes or at home use, such as air conditioning. From the performance of the filter media it is possible to analyze the energy cost, the product life and the capacity to remove impurities, among other characteristics. The objective of this work is to evaluate the permeability and efficiency of the nanoparticle collection of a filter media classified as F7, according to EN 779 (2012), and another one as E11, according to EN 1882 (2009), when virgin and after the loading with dust, up to the limit of pressure drop suggested by these standards. The experimental apparatus used is in the Laboratory of Environmental Control in the Department of Chemical Engineering of UFSCar. In the permeability tests, the clean air surface velocity was varied from 0 to 5cm/s, whereas in the filtration tests the filtration surface velocity was 5cm/s with aerosol generated from a solution of 0.1% DEHS in isopropyl alcohol.
