Dust release functions to describe the particle emissions of bulk materials

N. Schwindt*, H. Kruggel-Emden, E. Schmidt, University of Wuppertal; D. Schulz, Technical University Berlin, Germany

This paper describes the ideas and procedures of the project collaboration between the Institute of Particle Technology, University of Wuppertal and Department of Mechanical Process Engineering and Solids Processing, Technische Universit├Ąt Berlin for the further development of dust release functions. The project deals with arise of dust emissions during handling of coarsely dispersed bulk materials. The goal is to investigate a dust release function as a function of process parameters, material parameters and dispersibility parameters supporting industries in dust emission forecast. For this purpose closely linked experimental (University of Wuppertal) und numerical (Technische Universit├Ąt Berlin) investigations ought to be performed. This paper gives an overview of the project and describes future procedures...
