Electrospun nanofibers as a potential for membrane distillation

Electrospun mat has gained much attention as an excellent membrane for membrane distillation (MD) process. MD is a non-isothermal separation process that only vapor molecules are allowed to pass through a porous hydrophobic membrane and the driving force for vapor transport is the partial vapor pressure difference created by temperature gradient on both sides of the membrane.
