Numerical simulation of the deposition and filtration characteristics of viscous particles on PTFE filter surface

Based on the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of PTFE microporous membrane filter material, the micro-structure model of PTFE filter material was established.

The deposition characteristics of the viscous particle size of 3μm to 6μm on the surface of the filter material was analyzed based on the coupling method of computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method (CFD-DEM). The results show that, when the injection mass is constant, the larger the particle size, the larger the deposition mass. The force of particles in the computational domain is obtained, and the small particle adheres to the surface of the filter material ineffectively, which leads to the particle rebound back to the dusty gas, resulting in its low filtration efficiency.The force acting on particles under different surface energy conditions was also investigated, which indicates that...
