Trade fair participants can enter Germany, as they are considered business travellers with an urgent need to travel.
Trade fair participants must provide proof of their participation in the trade fair when applying for a visa or respectively when entering Germany:
• Employees of exhibiting companies must present a confirmation of their participation in the fair from the trade fair organiser.
• Visitors to the trade fair must present their entry ticket to the trade fair and additionally provide proof of an appointment for a business meeting with at least one exhibitor at the location at the trade fair.
In North Rhine-Westphalia quarantine rules do not apply for trade fair attendees if the have a negative test not older than 48 hours as they are considered business travellers with an urgent need to travel. As regulations can change, attendees are urged to inform themselves before travelling.
We recommend to bring a negative test when entering Germany and/or get a test upon arrival at the airport in Frankfurt or Düsseldorf (price 59 €).

Do trade fair participants need a visa?
Citizens from countries requiring a visa who travel to Germany to visit a trade fair or exhibit at a trade fair require a business travel visa.
Employees of exhibiting companies are exempt from the visa fee.
Free public transport in Cologne for Filtech 2021 Visitors

FILTECH 2021 will again be held at the Koelnmesse in Cologne. Koelnmesse’s central location, is conveniently situated for all transport links, visitors can quickly reach the exhibition centre by car, train and plane. High-speed ICE trains connect the airports in Frankfurt (FRA), Düsseldorf (DUS), Cologne-Bonn (CGN) directly to the exhibition center via Köln Messe/Deutz station – just a short walk to FILTECH 2021.
Arriving by Air
From the airports in Cologne-Bonn, Duesseldorf and Frankfurt you are connected via high-speed ICE trains directly to the exhibition center.

Arriving by Train
The Köln Messe/Deutz railway station for high-speed and local trains is located directly next to the exhibition grounds – just a short walk to the entrance North. Within the city of Cologne participants can travel for free if they hold their public transport ticket.
Arriving by Car
Ten highways lead into Cologne’s beltway, which brings you directly to the exhibition center. Simply follow the green signs marked “Koelnmesse”. Parking lots are available. Parking fees apply. Day-Ticket: 10 €
